Holiday Weekend

We had a great 24th of July.  With the Holiday falling on Sunday this year, we were able to celebrate all weekend!  

On Saturday, we went boating with some friends.  It was Eli's first time on the lake!  He HATED wearing the life jacket, but once we started moving he was happy.  And don't worry folks, we were only going like 5 mph on the tube.

 We then left Jordanelle and headed straight to Kamas where we go every year to an old Stratford East Neighborhood Reunion BBQ

 On Monday, we were able to go with Zach's brother Jesse and his wife Brynn to the fountains at the Gateway.  Eli kept wanting to look down the holes where the water shoots out, not such a good idea.

 After the fountains, we headed to get some food and dessert.  Eli LOVED the caramel apple, what a cutie!

They're Back!!

Remember this post?  Can you believe that two years have gone by and the three amigos are back from their missions? Well I couldn't.  At the end of May, we had the pleasure of welcoming home two of the three boys who flew back home not only on the SAME DAY, but just TWO minutes apart.  The whole McConnell-Burton clan went to the airport for the glorious reunion with Kevin and Chris.

Our Boy is One!!

 

 Last month we celebrated Eli's 1st birthday. With the chaotic week of moving, work and family functions, we decided to have a low key party with family and friends at Tanner park.  It was perfect and I could not have been more pleased with how it turned out. 

Bentley turns 10!

Bentley is my parent's dog, he turned 10 years old last week and my cute niece (who's 6) planned a party for him.  She did a great job, all the kids had so much fun.

Dirty Dash 2011!

Best way to exercise ever! Last Saturday, we went up to Soldier Hollow to run walk (let's be honest here) the Dirty Dash, a 5k race up/down the mountain and through a bunch of muddy obstacles!  The whole point was to get dirty and have fun! Done and Done!

This was the very start of the race.  We all ran (actually me and zach sprinted. if you look closely, you can see me in the top left corner, about 5 people from the top, almost the front of the pack) up this hill full of mud, which was probably a bad idea because it was actually really exhausting.

We jumped over hay bales, crawled through muddy tubes, climbed walls, got water balloons thrown at us.  If that doesn't sound like fun than what does?

The race took us just over an hour to complete.  Thanks to my dad who came up and watched Eli and took all these great photos!  We will definitely be doing it next year.

Kickball Anyone?

Totally random, I know!  A friend of Zach's called him up Friday and asked if we would play kickball, they were short a few players.  Hello!? It had been over 15 years since I played kickball and didn't even know that leagues even existed.  Well, they do and it was actually pretty fun.
